2022 Policy Forum

It’s the start of a new year – but America is still struggling with many of the same old problems when it comes to digital identity and authentication.  Passwords keep getting phished, new account fraud keeps growing, and companies and consumers continue to struggle to prove that they are not a proverbial “dog on the Internet.”  It’s becoming a major policy concern – and policymakers are considering a number of new initiatives to better protect people and combat these trends.

On January 24th and 25th, join us as the Better Identity Coalition, the FIDO Alliance, the ID Theft Resource Center (ITRC) come together to present a policy forum looking at “Identity, Authentication, and the Road  Ahead.”

This two-day virtual policy forum will bring together leaders from government, industry, and non-profits to discuss topics including:

  • The release of the ID Theft Resource Center Annual Data Breach Report

  • How the COVID pandemic has enabled fraudsters to steal identities more easily – and made it harder for real people to prove who they are

  • Ways that government can help address pain points in our identity infrastructure – through new policies and initiatives

  • Updates on new products and standards like FIDO that can make identity and authentication both more secure and easier to use for industry and government alike

  • Discussions on what can be done to drive better identity infrastructure in America

2021 brings a new Biden Administration and a new Congress – and many of the same old problems when it comes to digital identity and authentication. If anything, things got worse over the last year; the COVID-19 pandemic and the shift to virtual laid bare the inadequacies of the nation’s digital identity infrastructure. Passwords keep getting phished, new account fraud keeps growing, and companies and consumers continue to struggle to prove that they are not a proverbial “dog on the Internet.”

On February 4th and 5th, join us as the Better Identity Coalition, the FIDO Alliance, the ID Theft Resource Center (ITRC) come together to present “Identity, Authentication, and the Road Ahead.”

This two-day virtual policy forum will bring together leaders from government, industry, and non-profits to discuss topics including:

  • What to expect on identity and authentication in a Biden Administration

  • How COVID-19 has transformed the identity landscape

  • Ways that government can help address pain points in our identity infrastructure

  • Updates on new products and standards like FIDO that can make authentication both more secure and easier to use for industry and government alike

  • Discussions on what can be done to drive better identity in America
